Being Used Of God. Perhaps one of most often debated texts in the scriptures is found in John 2:1-11. The debate usually concerns whether or not the water to wine miracle involved alcoholic or non-alcoholic wine. Some use it to justify their use of alcohol and others to support their abstinence. The arguments for and against go on and on, and in the meantime, a great truth from this text is entirely overlooked; namely, Christ wants to involve us in His work. But participation in Christ's work requires certain responses from us. This morning, we'll pass on the alcohol debate and enrich our lives with a lesson on these responses.
