February 8, 2009 Dry Times. What do you do when it seems as if God is nowhere to be found? When you were first saved, you had great expectations about what your Christian life was going to be like. You, no doubt, expected the tangible presence of Christ to always have the same vibrant feeling. And while there are many wonderful days filled with the awesome presence of God, after a while, believers find that there are also so-called "dry" times in their walk with God. You’re in the midst of a crisis or longing for that revival in your soul, and it seems as if God is on vacation. Do you know that believers throughout history have felt the same way? Old Testament believers felt it. New Testament believers felt it too. And what should we think and do today when we find that it seems as if Christ is distant from us?
