The Christ: The sun was hot. The air was dry. Scores of people were standing in and around the Jordan river. An uncommon looking man was baptizing them one after another for the repentance of sins. Soon, talk began to circulate among those present. "Who is this man?" "Where did he come from?" "Why is he baptizing?" With unwavering clarity, John the Baptist began to turn the attention from himself and to Christ. His discourse tells us much about Christ that we should pay attention to this morning.
