Values Voting. In two short days, we head to the polls to elect our next political leaders. While it is easy to get caught up in the passion of the moment, it is imperative that Christians approach this election with a clear Biblical worldview. I encourage you to go to a nonpartisan source to research the candidates’ voting records on issues that are important to Christians – the preservation of life, the protection of marriage, the promotion of family, the prevention of injustice, the free practice of religion, etc. Political campaigning and campaign ads are designed to get people elected. Political candidates and parties often give vague statements and answers that make it difficult to determine what the politician really believes. The best way to find out what a politician believes is to review their voting record on such issues. This will give you a good idea of the direction they will take this country. Here are a couple of websites I believe are nonpartisan and offer you a chance to check out the candidates voting records: www.votesmart.org and www.senate.gov. There are others. Vote informed; vote your Christian values! Living Hope Church does not endorse these websites, any political party, or any political candidate.
