Times of Reflection. This week, the Lord has reminded me that Christians must regularly pull away from life’s "normal routine" and spend time in reflection. When is the last time you looked intently at your natural face in the mirror (Jam 1:23)? Often we perform only a cursory look and then forget what we see (vs 24), but looking intently will drive us beyond surface reflections and reveal who we truly are…our thoughts and attitudes, doubts and fears, hopes and dreams. It will take us beyond the masks we wear and let us be honest with ourselves and our Savior. Let me encourage you to reflect on your own life and be vulnerable before your Father, remembering that His "power is made perfect in [our] weakness" (2 Cor 12:9). To God be the glory for times of reflection!
