Handling Offenses. What will you do when the opportunity to "get even" presents itself? When you have been treated unfairly and your rights have been violated, and then the circumstances of life open the door to retribution, will you cross the threshold? When you’ve been hurt or offended and the guilty party finds himself or herself at your mercy, will you show it? He or she doesn’t deserve it; but then, truth be told, neither do you! In verses 12-15, Philemon is presented with such an opportunity to exact punishment, and though we are never told what his choice was, scripture as a whole instructs us as to the proper course of action.
