Thankful, Prayerful and Joyful Leaders. Coming out of Pastor Appreciation Week, I’m reminded that in our Christian walk, we all have those who are over us in the Lord. Jesus clearly said that Christian leaders are not to be like worldly leaders (Mar 10:42-43), but they are rather called to serve others; the greater the calling, the greater the service (Mar 9:35; 10:44-45). As followers, what will we make their service like? Will we make it pleasant, or will we make it a challenge? I want to bless those who are serving (leading) me for Christ’s sake and mine (1 The 5:12; Heb 13:17). Don’t you? Did you know that you can do that? Let’s look at Paul’s letter to Philemon this morning and discover how we can create thankful, prayerful and joyful leaders (Phi 1:4-7).
