In his first epistle to believers, the Apostle Peter said, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a LIVING HOPE through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time” (vv 1:3-5, ESV). At Living Hope we are some of those who “by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”
In 2002, Trinity International Church of God (formerly Laurel Church of God) changed its name to Living Hope Church of God as a reminder and celebration of the fact that we have been “born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” What does it mean to be born again? Ask one of us, for we have received God's mercy and know what it is to experience the new birth. Together we praise and worship the Father, follow and serve the Son, and live victorious lives through the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit.
We believe we are living in the last days and that the Second Coming of Christ is imminent. It is our desire that Christians everywhere would reject the excesses of the world and live balanced and moderate lives. While it is right to enjoy every good and perfect gift that the Father gives us here, it is imperative that we remain focused on an imperishable, undefiled and unfading inheritance kept for us in heaven. This is what we preach and this is what we teach at Living Hope Church.
At Living Hope Church, we will always care about people...all people! Regardless of real or perceived past and/or present faults and failures, all people will find acceptance here. Those without Christ will be challenged to accept Him as their Lord and Savior, and those with Christ will receive spiritual guidance to dig deeper into their faith. We will not focus on rituals and talent, but rather on inviting people to experience the true presence and transforming power of God. Christianity will be more than a word; it will be a lifestyle! May we all be willing to be part of something bigger than ourselves and challenged to a call to selfless action.
